Ten years ago, a coalition of artists began to grow in the sleepy Midwest. People began to come together to create. People moved, and plans changed to take part in the collaboration. Artists developed but, most of all, art was created. (A lot of art.)

In 2011 in Chicago, everyone looked around and noticed that while loads of great art had been created and even more new art was being created, nothing was being done about it.

Music Producer and Songwriter Stefan Clark started Cassette Company Productions in 2006. He recruited his friend and collaborator, Sean Geyer, an engineer and songwriter, to help build the music production company. At the time, they were happy to play by the industry's rules. They spent four years clawing their way up the well-worn ladder of the music industry. While placating A&R people, they were constantly being told that there was only one way to success. The old way. In 2011, it was decided: that was no way to make music.

What was built was a studio, and a passion to make music from all genres. Most importantly though were the amazing creative friendships fostered—and amazing records. Amazing records that no one ever heard. Frustrated but naively excited, Cassette Company Records was born.

Critics will say that the roster is fractured, that it has too many genres under one roof. Cassette Company says that is foolish. The artists from Cassette Company all created this music together, so it will all live together. The process informs the presentation.

The new goal is to foster a family of creatives who support each other and promote each other's work. Cassette Company has always been creating great music, it's just that from now on they won't be waiting for approval to let it be heard.
